Sherpa Glacier (Descent), Mt Stuart

Morning sun spilling over our open bivy sites, blue skies giving views of the Cascades, and coffee on the summit...  Quite an amazing morning.

Hike down the snow field to access the glacier.

Cut left the this notch to access the Sherpa Glacier (note the white rectangular stone on the small ridge line peak with Sherpa Balanced Rock in the background).

Sherpa Glacier

Traversing over the bergschrund

Steep but secure

Less secure glacial silt covered rock slabs lead to less fun falls.  50ft of scary but uninjured descent.

One last view before heading back down Mountaineers Creek.
