Cirque of Towers

Pictures from my recent trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming.

Day 0: Drove from SLC to the trail head in WY.

Day 1: We started out at Big Sandy Trail head, hiked 7 miles to Big Sandy Lake, and then another 3 miles to where we picked a campsite in the Cirque of Towers. Packs ranged from 30-55lbs for food, climbing gear, and camping gear.  Luxury is weight, but no weight is a luxury too.

Day 2: Scott, Joe, Rachel, and I climbed the classic East Ridge of Wolf's Head.  A 1000 foot moderate rock climb with amazing exposure that climbs the knife edge ridge seen in some of the photos below.
Day 3: Scott, Joe, and I climbed another classic rock climb, the Northeast Face of Pingora, a 1,200 foot climb to the top of the prominent tower seen in many of the pictures below.
Day 4: Hiked back out to the car and drove back to SLC.

Here are pictures from our trip, taken from each of our cellphone cameras, but because of that they are grouped by photographer and not by chronological order.  I will put up a few of the good ones full sized in a bit
